How to deal with racism #3: Charity

There are two kinds of charity in this world: the real kind and the fake kind. Well duh. Everyone mostly gets the fake kind, that's why charity has a bad name. Among the fake kind is the one that takes away your self improvement and work ethic. In the name of charity, you are being forced down so the racists can stay in charge. And then there's the one that turns you into a garbage can.

Racists enjoy tossing their torn clothes, used shoes and broken toys into charity boxes for those they deem unfit to be humans. It's their way of showing how non-racist they are and still telling you what they think of you. And if you're running to those boxes just to get free stuff you are an unfit human. Think about it, used shoes? Ew. You could get athlete's foot. Torn clothes? If you're looking for rags to clean the toilet with. Broken toys? Better to have no toys than broken pieces of junk.

There are people who won't give anything of theirs' away, so they love giving rides. Your car broke, you don't have one yet, you're a one car house and so and so took it to work--whatever, but you don't have a ride. An acquaintance of yours that everyone speaks well of gives you a ride to show how much they love you. "Look at me, I'm not racist! I'm helping this wretch sitting in my car! Yay!" And then they tell everyone they pass by how busy they are, but that they gave you a ride. Then they complain about gas prices so when you offer gas money to them they don't take it. They have such a high calling! They must be the martyr! You must know with all your might how much they sacrificed for you so that you can be properly grateful to their highness. Then they offer to buy you a candy bar or something whilst lecturing in that annoyingly subtle way how you need to be healthy and how poor people (whom they stepped on to get where they are) are ruining the world. Are you poor? Maybe, maybe not, but they believe you are because of your race. Then they condemn you. Where is your work ethic? For some reason your work ethic consists of hard manual labor whilst they sit lazily back behind a desk.

Now what to do? You can do three things. You can refuse everything they give you and cut them out of your life. Or, you can take all you can while the getting's good, make a pest of yourself in constantly bothering them for things, making them wish they never met you. Or you can call them out. Subtlety fears bluntness and racism is subtle these days. Ask them a million questions about their inconsistencies. "Why are you buying me candy when you said I need to be healthy?" "What did you give me a ride for if you're just going to complain?" "Why don't YOU want these clothes?" "Oh look, there's a rip in it. You need to throw this away." "Ew, this shoe smells." "Why didn't you throw these away?" "You can't be THAT busy because you said on the phone you had nothing to do today."

Why be the garbage can?
