My battle plan for the release of "Renzhies."

Book 2 is coming out! YAY! And this time, I have a better head on my shoulders. I made a checklist and gave myself enough time to get the book out properly.

DECEMBER, JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH

Item 1: Go over your editor's edits and apply. CHECK

Item 2: Fix that one scene that's been bugging you for months because book 3 was much like yourself and announced something last minute. CHECK

Item 3: Fix that chapter your editor had issues with. CHECK

Item 4: Look up the word "Sirix" in the first book to see if you had capitalized it or not. CHECK. It's capitalized.

Item 5: Add in title pages, About the Author, and all that mess for the before and after pages. (Not done yet)

Item 6: Make a new glossary, and while you're at it, capitalize all words "Sirix"

Item 7: Check that one section for discrepancies in a Syladin's physical makeup.

Item 8: Chapter heading names (funna fun-fun!)

Item 9: Format with section breaks instead of page breaks (I can format like a boss so I don't need to pay anybody. Thank goodness. I suppose this is where all my brain matter went.)

Item 10: Fix the page numbers so page one begins on the right side at chapter one instead of on the title page.

Item 11: Make sure page numbers don't appear by the chapter headings.

Item 12: Make sure page numbers are consistent to the end of the story and then vanish afterward. (thank goodness I mirrored the numbers already)

Item 13: The dreaded table of contents (Table of contents, I hate you like a cat hates water)

Item 14: Now we add the pretties: scene breaks, nice fonts, good fonts etc...

Item 15: Consistent and ongoing, the book description. Agh! Agh! Agh! Agh! Agh!

Item 16: Take note of final page count and paper color you chose for the paperback so I can take it to my cover artist.

APRIL, MAY

Item 17: Meeting with my cover artist and he will design my cover as beautifully as "Nri Kryne."

Item 18: Send out the arc so I can get as many reviews as I can, because reviews make sales.

Item 19: Make the kindle edition using KDP's kindle create.

JUNE:

Item 20: Upload my slave labor to KDP and press the PUBLISH button.

Item 21: Make ads for "Renzhies."

Item 22: Book 2 is finally out! Now book 3, you have my undivided attention. Book 1: you just keep on being awesome.

Twitter. Yuck. Bleah. The place has become a toxic mire. In 2012, I joined Twitter, because I was told it was a good place to promote myself. I gained over 10,000 followers and was heading for 11,000. The rules when I signed up said, "Always be kind and courteous." So I was. In the last few years, there have been droves of people being absolute trolls, jerks, and taking offense at every tiny thing, to the point that everyone had to mince their words. There is a writing community there who lauds itself as extremely supportive. It's filled with self-proclaimed authors who laugh at procrastinating their writing. They have memes stating, "If you're a writer, you're on Twitter right now and thinking you should be writing." Another one was, "If you SAY you're a writer, then you're a writer."

One Star Reviews Usually Reflect The Reader

One star reviews suck, but they reflect the reader more than anything else. One I got from a woman who said she would post her review on Amazon if she gave it a three or higher. She also promised to buy the book, too, after she picked out the books she wanted to read. She picked mine, but a few months later, she asked if I could send it to her for free. I should have listened to the red flag that went up, but I didn't. The woman was already untrustworthy. I sent her a PDF file. She went onto her YouTube and complained about my book in the most condescending way. After I got over the stings enough to think clearly, I began to realize she complained about things that weren't true. She said there weren't enough explanations for this or that. Guess what, those things had ample explanations. I realized she didn't even read the book, but skimmed over it. Some of what she said were outright lies. Working with KDP vs Author Central on salvaging reviews

All right, so yesterday, I had contacted both KDP Customer Support and Author Central about salvaging book reviews. Author Central answered me first and said I could save my reviews even with a different author name and different cover with a different title. I spoke to Author Central twice before KDP even answered me. I sent the old and new ISBN numbers to Author Central. My old reviews from "Pariahs" were saved and are now on "Nri Kryne's" sales page. All this was done before KDP answered me back with a "you can't save your reviews because they're different products even if the content is the same." If you want to salvage your reviews, DO NOT go through KDP Customer Support. Work with Author Central. If you really want anything done, go through Author Central. They're the ones who put my book on more categories than the two you have to pick on publishing your book.
